On-ice and Field Performance Characteristics of Ice-hockey Players: Focusing on the Relation with Patient-reported Outcome

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics field and on-ice performances ice-hockey players relationship performance with subjective joint pain dysfunction.METHODS A total 25 male college icehockey were evaluated for 19 items performance. Pain dysfunctions in lower extremities back confirmed through Foot Ankle Outcome Score, Knee Injury Osteoarthritis Hip Dysfunction Osweatry Disability Index questionnaire. Players similar classified a cluster analysis, differences patient-reported outcomes between clusters analyzed one-way analysis variance.RESULTS into “lower muscular strength (cluster 1),” cardiorespiratory endurance 2),” “high 3).” 1 had more frequent ankle knee compared those 3. Several test affected score, related proximal than distal joint.CONCLUSIONS Ice hockey should perform training supplement their individual lack Since may be limited because dysfunction pain, joint-specific intervention strategy applied improve physical athletic performances.
